  1. Are there any restrictions on the Free Trial account?
  2. No, there are no restrictions during the free trial account period. You are able to create and run up to 3 active CheckIns at the same time and you can use up to 50 Comms during the trial period. Remember, 1 Comm is equal to 1 phone call, 1 text message or 1 email. See a full explanation of the Free Trial. Back to Top
  3. I'm not very good with computers. Is this system hard to use?
  4. No, we have gone to great lengths to make sure anyone can use this system. Including adding a "Wizard" to help you create your Check In. A wizard is a tool that walks you through the process of creating a Check In step by step and tells you what to do at each step. And if you are still having trouble, we will even create the Check In for you. All you have to do is fill out a simple form with the details of what you want to do, like who, when and how you want to contact people, and we will take it from there. Once you create your account, just look under the CheckIns menu and select the "Help! You Create It For Me" option. Doesn't get any easier than that! Back to Top
  5. Does the person I am Checking In on need to have a computer?
  6. No, you can set up the Check In and have us contact the person you want to Check In on by phone and all they have to do is press the #1 key and it will let us know everything is ok. We will take it from there. Back to Top
  7. Do I have to have a computer to use this system?
  8. The simple answer is if you are reading this right now you have everything you need to get going. You can set up your account and create Check Ins using any browser such as Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc. So you do need some sort of device like a phone, tablet or computer that has access to the Internet and that is it. No special "Apps" that require certain types of phones or whatever. Back to Top
  9. How many people can I have notified if someone fails to Check In?
  10. You can have as many people notified as you want, there is no limit. And you can have us send them notifications in as many ways as you want using phone calls, text messages and emails. Back to Top
  11. How much does it cost?
  12. We have plans that are packaged to meet your needs at the lowest possible cost designed to fit any budget. We offer monthly and annual plans with the annual plans being a much lower cost on average over time. If you use it as a family or are a professional caregiver or senior center administrator or a municipality, we also have plans that allow multiple Check Ins to be running to meet any situation you might have. And we price the "Comms" (1 Comm = 1 phone call or 1 text message or 1 email message) separately so you only pay for what you need, much like you do with your cell phone plan. Check out our Plans & Pricing page to see full details and select which plan best meets your needs. Back to Top
  13. When you say "active Check In strings" on the Pricing Page, what is an active Check In string?
  14. A Check In string or Active Check In is a Check In you have set up that is currently scheduled to process. It includes all the Notifications in that Check In whether they end up processing or not. And if you set it up to run every day, it will count as an Active Check In until you either suspend it or cancel it. If you set a Check In to run only once, it is considered an Active Check In until and during the time it is running and then once it is completed it is no longer considered an Active Check In so at that point, you could create another. 15. How can I be absolutely positive that someone is ok even if there is a technical failure in a system or a network somewhere?
  16. Great question! Although it happens very infrequently and we make every effort to make sure it never happens, the possibility exists. The only way to be 100% certain that you need to follow up is to set up your Check In so that it notifies you every time whether the person Checks In ok or fails to Check In. If you use our Check In Wizard to create your Check In, we set it up that way automatically. Then, if the person you are Checking In on should have Checked In by 9 AM and you have heard nothing by 9:05 AM, there has been a system failure because you should receive a notification every day no later than 9:05 AM indicating that they did Check In or they failed to Check In. The only way for you not to receive a notification of some sort is if a system or network has temporarily failed somewhere. So if you don't receive a notification by 9:05 AM you should follow up immediately with the person you are Checking In on and once the situation is resolved let us know of the failure and we will trace it down. Back to Top
  17. Who creates the Check In schedule?
  18. You do! You select the time to send the initial notification to the person you are Checking In on and whether you want it sent via phone call, text message or email, or a combination of those. Then you tell us who you want to notify of that person misses their Check In and we take it from there. But don't be afraid, the Wizard will take care of guiding you through that. Back to Top
  19. How does someone indicate that they are ok and that the Check In should clear?
  20. In an email message, there is a link that the person can click that will tell the system they are ok. With a text message there will be a link also but some phone providers don't allow active links in text messages. So in each text message there is a 6 digit code that you can type into a the response area and just send the message back to us and that will tell us you are ok. If they are receiving a phone call they simply press the #1 key and we will know they are ok. After we receive the all ok, we send out Notifications telling whoever you designate that everything is ok. Back to Top
  21. Is this only usable for the elderly who live alone?
  22. Absolutely not! In fact, we know a person who used it to call someone to make sure they were up and about for their early morning flight. If they had not answered the phone call they would have known to take other actions to get them up. Very creative. And we would love to hear what you use it for. Whether it's to Check In on a child who is traveling across the country or an aunt who lives alone, this is all about the Peace of Heart you get knowing someone is checking in on you or your friends and loved ones. Back to Top
  23. If I don't want or need the Check In for a few days, can I temporarily suspend it?
  24. Sure! There is an option to Suspend Check Ins. You enter the date you want the suspension to start and the date you want it end. Easy! Back to Top
